Craftman Style Plan with Lania and BBQ PorchCraftsman House Plan With Bonus Room 65867 has 1,848 square feet of living space. 3 bedrooms are located on the main floor. The plan also has options to expand the living space. There is an upstairs bonus room. You can also choose the optional basement and finish the space.
Exterior Design - Craftsman House Plan With Bonus Room
Craftsman House Plans are easy to identify. This home plan is no exception. Several features add curb appeal to this 3 bedroom home.
Firstly, the exterior has a combination of stone and cedar shake siding. Secondly, the porch columns rest on solid stone bases. Thirdly, the gables are adorned with decorative wood detail. Fourthly, we see some of the doors and windows topped with an arch. Board and batten shutters complete the "arts and crafts" look.
Craftsman detail is continued in the rear elevation. The lanai and grilling porch are bordered with thick stone. Here we see a suggested layout for a luxurious outdoor living space. Relax on a patio chair. Listen to the soft sound of the waterfall from the jacuzzi. Or take a dip in the lovely pool. The scene is simply peaceful outside this Craftsman House Plan With Bonus Room.
The home has an angled 2-car garage. This home plan will work well on a corner lot due to the angled garage. Inside, you have a storage room and a work shop. There is also an option for a 3-car garage. Call to speak with a sales rep to choose this option.
Interior Design With Open Floor Plan
Step into the foyer from the front porch. The utility room is to your left, and it has an exit to the garage. The dining room is to your right, and you have the option to add beautiful ceiling treatments to enhance the space.
We love the double-sided fireplace between the family room and the dining room. This leaves one long wall open for a great entertainment system in this Craftsman House Plan With Bonus Room.
The kitchen is an angled design. French doors face the dining room. The angled counter faces the family room. There is plenty of room to set up stools for the kids or for guests to sit and talk to the cook. For informal meals, a small table will fit in the nook which overlooks the back yard.
Interior Design With Split Floor Plan
This Craftsman House Plan With Bonus Room has a split floor plan. That means that mom and dad have more privacy. Their bedroom is located on the left side of the house. They enjoy a sitting room in the bedroom. Open a set of French doors to enter the luxurious ensuite. The ensuite includes two vanities, a 5 foot soaker tub, separate shower, private water closet, and his and hers walk-in closets.
The children's bedrooms are located on the right side of the house. They share the guest bathroom. The bathroom vanity is separated from the tub and toilet, and this arrangement makes morning preparation faster. For example, one child can brush their teeth while the other gets a shower. We know that every second counts in the morning!

Ask the Designer any question you may have. NOTE: If you have a plan modification question, please click on the Plan Modifications tab above.
A: Total 3car width is 83’-8” wide. The circles you are asking about are actually hexagons which denote window size which is part of the construction documents.
A: 1848 SF
A: A 3’x2’ island.
A: In the garage under the bonus stairs.
A: Refer to plan 65862 for a better option on the stairs.
A: No, the basement stair for this one is in the garage. The ceiling is 8’. A modification would be required to get a 9.5’ tall garage door.
A: 21” diam.
A: No. At the main living areas they are 12’, on the wings they are 10’ and at the garage 8’.
A: Everything is 2x4 studs @ 16” oc unless you order 2x6 exterior walls.
A: 3 car garage yes. ½ bath no.
A: Yes, the overall includes the garage. The basement area is roughly equivalent to the main level, less the wall thickness.
A: Master ceiling is stepped. No this is not the same as 75134. Similar though.
A: 3rd bay is 11’x22’-5”. Does not effect size of storage or workshop. It does add footage to the bonus room above in the shape of a “T” going straight back over(perpendicular to) the 3rd bay - an extra 12’x15’.
A: 11’ x 22’-5” for the 3rd bay.
A: We use regular old Autodesk AutoCAD 2014. Yes, you can use any software that uses dwg files.
A: We have a 3rd car option available for an additional $150. The width is 83’-8” .
A: We specify shake siding for this plan. We have another plan, similar to this one which does specify log siding which is not whole logs, but log siding.
A: 83’-8” wide x 71’-5” deep.
A: 3’-8”x3’-8” clear inside.
A: 14’ x 9’-6”
A: 23’ to the top of the higher of the two gables.
A: 2’ taller plate heights – 10’ vs 12’.
A: 3378 SF Frame -
A: 83’-8” not including the decorative trellis on the right side.
A: Utility – 5-4 x 6-9 Foyer - 6-9 x 9-3
A: Yes and yes. These are changes that you can employ locally.
A: Steve, We do provide roof framing plans for ‘stick framing’ via dimensional lumber. We do not provide calculations nor are they ‘engineered’ as we cannot assume loading for every area of the country. We use industry standards and load/span tables as published in the 2012 IRC and as required for our location here in Texas. We also do not provide a truss framing plan for the roof(some people do request this also). We do provide foundation plans(slab, crawlspace and basement – options as priced with FamilyHomePlans), again using the 2012 IRC and they are not ‘engineered’ and may need some local engineering/modifications. We provide details where we deem necessary to explain a detail that is non-standard for conventional framing. Hope that helps your decision making process.
A: We recommend Hardi-Board. They have a shake siding that looks and performs great.
A: 3602 SF of covered area.
A: Plans can be modified to use ICF. Roof is stick framed but could be trussed. Decorative trusses on gables are a custom order.
A: Yes, plenty. The roof pitch is 12:12.
A: The stair to the basement and the bonus are in the garage in our design. That could be modified (for a fee) to hall access though. The workshop is also in the garage, but could be partitioned off as part of the stair connection.
A: Do not know if it has been built in the Ontario area. Cost varies greatly with region. Your best bet is to ask a builder. We have interior renderings and photos of a similar plan - http://www.familyhomeplans.com/plan_details.cfm?PlanNumber=65862
A: Don’t have any info on that.
A: Unfortunately, no.
A: We show about 16’ with a 6’(+) walk beyond that, so it could be deeper.
A: They both come with the plan and are not mutually exclusive.
A: 514 sf
A: It does come with a 3 car and the bonus room becomes a T-shape with space expanding towards the rear of the garage where the 3rd car bay would be.
A: Yes there is plenty.
A: The workshop and storage are on the garage level in our drawings. However you could easily modify the wic’s to claim space from the garage.
A: Yes. Would probably still leave the designated squares and vault inside of them.
A: Sorry - no there is not.
A: Bonus is area you have the option of using or not.
We can reverse the plan from left to right, not back to front.
The garage is not included in the heated area but is an additional 550 SF
A: They are nearly identical to the interior renderings for plan 65862.
A: It is stepped (coffered).
A: Not for this one.
A: The square footage is just the air conditioned space. No porches, bonus space or garage areas were included.
A: Yes, Reference plan 65862 walk-out basement. They are very similar.View Attached File
A: The basement stairs are in the Garage going from left to right.
A: In this plan it is only accessible from the Garage... unfortunately.
A: The interior layout is the same as plan 65862 with the exception of the views of the study. Those interior renderings will show how it looks.
A: The interior renderings are similar to our plan no. 65862. The only difference is the elimination of the Study/Media in lieu of a workshop area in the Garage. I have attached a sketch of a walk-out basement condition.
A: Total under roof = 3437 SF
A: The furnace and water heater will fit nicely in the attic space and be more centrally located. The dryer vent will have to go up thru the attic and out the roof. It may require an additional blower fan. David Wiggins
A: Yes you can! Please click the "Modifications" tab above to get more information.
A: The national average for a house is running right at $125.00 per SF. You can get more detailed information by clicking the Cost-To-Build tab above. Sorry, but we cannot give cost estimates for garage, multifamily or project plans.
